Healthcare costs are pushing families into financial crisis while access disappears for those who need it most. Tamika will expand Medicaid to close Florida’s coverage gap, cap prescription drug costs for seniors and families, protect Medicare and VA healthcare, and ensure caregivers have the resources and support they need to provide care with dignity.
Insurance Stabilization
For years, lawmakers have shielded insurance companies while Florida's working families absorb soaring premiums and shrinking coverage. Tamika will fight to cap excessive insurance rate increases, end predatory industry practices, and enforce real accountability so insurers meet their obligations to Florida homeowners and renters.
Affordable Housing
Florida’s housing market increasingly serves investors and speculators while working people are priced out of their homes. Tamika will protect renters from predatory rent increases, expand affordable housing, and fight to preserve homeownership as a realistic path to stability and long-term security for Florida's families.
Labor Dignity & Fair Wages
Full-time work no longer produces stability. Wages haven't kept pace with costs. Florida has normalized extraction as the cost of employment. Tamika will fight for a living wage, protect workers' right, and ensure that work produces security, not just survival. She will works to ensure that economic dignity is a baseline expectation for all workers. because she believes that if you work for this country, it should work for you.
Education
Tamika will fight to fully fund Florida’s public education system. She supports raising teacher pay to competitive, livable levels to recruit and retain high-quality educators, reducing class sizes, and ensuring schools have the counselors, support staff, and modern resources students need to succeed. She will treat education as essential infrastructure for Florida’s long-term economic and civic health.
Seniors & Retirement Security
Tamika will protect Social Security and Medicare and ensure seniors can retire with dignity and predictability, not anxiety. She’ll fight to rein in rising prescription drug, insurance, and housing costs that are pricing retirees out of the communities they built, and defend pensions from corporate raids and political neglect.
Veterans' Rights & Benefits
Veterans served this country with honor, and the government owes them healthcare, benefits, housing support, and dignity in return. Too many veterans are met with bureaucratic dysfunction, delayed benefits, and abandonment when they come home. Tamika will fight to fully fund veterans’ healthcare without gaps or delays, streamline benefits delivery to cut through red tape, and invest in housing solutions to end veteran homelessness.
Climate & Cost-of-Living
Florida’s climate reality is driving up insurance costs, threatening homes, and making basic survival more expensive, deepening the state’s cost-of-living crisis. Tamika will invest in resilient infrastructure that protects homes and lowers household costs, treat climate impacts as solvency and affordability issues, and build systems that protect families instead of forcing them to shoulder the costs of preventable disasters.
